NORTHWEST OF DURHAM:   Wiebes spend Labor Day in Montezuma

Clayton and Betty Wiebe spent Labor Day weekend in Montezuma attending the 100th anniversary of the Church. This was where Betty grew up and they enjoyed meeting old friends and the many activies that took place.

Attendees of a family camp Aug. 30 and Labor Day at Milford Lake were Harry and Sheryle Rhodes, Ken and Shelli Giesbreacht and Taylor, Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes and family, Mike and Mich Rhodes and family, and Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family.

Wendell and Linda Wedel took a mini vacation Labor Day weekend. One of the main attractions they visited was Pioneer village at Minden, Nebraska.

Those who attended a birthday dinner for Clayton at the Clayton and Betty Wiebe home were the Nelson Wiebe family, Travis Koehn family, Wayne Wiebe family and Calvin Wiebe family and Loretta Wiebe went to the home of Clayton and Betty Wiebe on Sept. 6 for dinner. Clayton’s birthday was Sept 8.

Congratulations to Leonard and Dianne Peachy on the arrival of their daughter Ava Joy on Sept 4. She has two brothers to welcome her.

Going to the Moundridge Manor and Hospital Sept. 6 were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Mark and Kris Wiebe and Luke, Dalton and Lorna Wiebe and family, Greg and Charlene Wedel and family, and Doyle and Kara Wiebe and family. Ransom brought a short message and the others brought musical numbers.

Wanda Koehn has been a patient at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge this past week and Ransom and Lillian visited her one day.

Greg and Charlene Wedel and family were guests of Wendell and Linda Wedel for dinner on Sunday at the café. Wendell and Linda received a call from their grandson Gavin Jantz in California wishing them a happy grandparent’s day.

Roy and Nadine Davis and Rick and LaVae Koehn and boys went to Kansas City on Sept. 6 for a short vacation. One of the interesting places they visited was Lego Land. They returned home on Mon.

Sunday evening, the Morning Star Church had a special program. The main speakers were Devrin and Jeannette Nightengale from Copeland. The talk was about Noah’s Ark. Jeanette gave a children’s story with questions and song about the Ark. Devrin had made the Ark and animals he showed in his talk.

Lunch guests at the home of Doug and Starla Koehn Sunday included Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Chet and Mellissa Boehs and family, and Aaron and Janessa Herbel.
