Life-long rural Hillsboro farmer Wilbert N. Bartel, 91, died Sunday at his home.

He was born October 8, 1923, to Heinrich and Mary (Nickel) Bartel. He married Alvena Goossen on Feb. 7, 1947.

Survivors are his wife, of the home; his children, Dorothy Soldan of Manhattan, Wilbert K. “Sonny” Bartel of Hillsboro, Janet Bartel of Manhattan, and Wilmer Bartel of Hillsboro; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro. Burial was at Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
