Work on Cedar, Birch and Date Streets OK

In a short Hillsboro City Council meeting led by council member Byron McCarty one item of business was discussed.
Grant counsel Rosemary Saunders of Ranson Financial met with council members to get their opinions on work completed on Cedar, Birch, and Date Sts.
Barkley Construction completed the work earlier in the month and seeded the area this week.
“The final part in the grant process is to meet with the public and council members and make sure the project is completed to their standards,” Saunders said.
Because there were no residents at the meeting, Saunders got the thumbs up from council members. All agreed the work was up to their standards.
“We all think it looks good,” McCarty said. “All the people I’ve talked to who live along the road said they are happy.”
Council will issue a final payment for the project at next meeting. So far the project has totaled $562,733.
