Stacia Williams of Florence will participate with the Kansas State University symphony band in a weeklong tour this spring of the South Pacific. Williams is a 2002 graduate of Marion High School. Her parents are Roger and Laura Williams of Florence.
Three babies whose births are announced in this issue have Marion County grandparents. They are Natalie Grace Sigel, granddaughter of the Roger Stewards of Florence; Kira Celeste Wagner, granddaughter of the Stacey Colletts of Marion; and Maria Diane Herron, granddaughter of the Jerry Rzihas of Tampa.
The former Butch’s Diner in Tampa, closed for a while, has re-opened as Granny’s Little Grill. Phyllis Branson of Tampa is the new operator.
Sara Versch of Marion is among seven Southwestern College Association of Nursing students who will travel March 18 to 25 to Mexico to provide nursing and health care to indigent or chronically ill street people or children. Versch is a 2002 graduate of Marion High School. Her parents are Jim and Judy Versch.
Stu Meador of Marion recorded a hole-in-one on the par-three No. 9 green at Marion Country Club. Witnesses were Don and Brian Hess, Dave Shiplet, Steve Moore, and Josiah Meador.
