Dorothy Brink

A graveside service for Dorothy Mae Brink, 100, Derby, will be Monday, June 29, 2026, at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside Ave., Park City.

After the service, participants will be invited to a gathering of family and friends for a meal at South Rock Christian Church, 900 S. Rock Rd, Derby.

Dorothy was called by God to eternal rest June 17, 2026.

She was born July 10, 1925, in Hillsboro to Herman and Bessie Mae Krueger. She had a brother, Russell, and a sister, Bonnie.

Dorothy attended Tharp Grade School in Aulne and Peabody High School before serving at Boeing, where she worked on switches for bomb doors, during World War II.

After the war, she attended Wichita Business College and worked for Santa Fe Bus Co. Later, she served for 18 years as telephone supervisor for the American Heart Association.

Dorothy was a devoted farmer’s wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Dorothy married Robert Brink shortly after he returned from serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Dorothy and Robert had two children, Dennis and Vickie, four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and seven step great-grandchildren.

Dorothy had a servant heart and green thumb. Through the years, she engaged in the church community by teaching Sunday school, serving on prayer chains, and participating in activities of women’s groups.

Dorothy and Robert were recognized for more than 30 years of active service as project leaders and supporters of Sedgwick County 4-H.

Dorothy loved gardening and caring for plants, which thrived with her care.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother.

Memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, and American Heart Association.
