Florence truck stop now Jump Start

Staff writer

A longtime Flying Eagle truck stop and convenience store at Florence became a Jump Start truck stop last week.

Workers replaced the store’s sign Oct. 1.

The store temporarily is closed while the interior is updated to match other Jump Starts.

Jump Start marketing and brand development director Kristin Ghere said the company had hoped the store would be open by the end of last week, but much revamping remains.

When the station is operational, it will have a kitchen with a range of hot food selections, she said.

“I can tell you it will be in alignment with our Jump Start locations,” Ghere said. “I’m excited to be able to offer the community our $1 drink selections.”

The selections include both soft drinks and coffee.

The $1 options are part of a rewards program. Rewards customers also save three cents a gallon.

New fuel pumps will be installed as part of the changeover. The stations will offer four grades of fuel

Jump Start has 36 stations in Kansas, including stations in Newton, Abilene, and McPherson.
