The Warriors competed at a new course in Halstead, finishing fifth out of 14 teams.
“It was a very unique course with the large dam hills that made it a challenging course,” coach Jason Hett said.
Eli Klenda continues to lead the boys’ side with a ninth-place medal finish. Zayden Janzen was a minute behind Klenda, finishing 20th.
This team has the potential to be running Nov. 1 at Wamego, Hett said.
“It’s going to take all of them to stay locked in to get where we need them to be the next few weeks.”
The girls placed seventh Thursday. Brooklyn Beery led her side with a 28th-place finish. Twenty-one seconds later, Jessica Methvin finished 34th.
The Warriors will travel Thursday to North Newton.
Hillsboro
The Trojans ran at Berean Academy. The girls placed fifth while the boys placed sixth.
Individually, Riley Richert medaled with a ninth-place finish. Quinlyn Funk captured 13th, and Jaidyn Funk placed 19th.
Hillsboro will be in Sterling Thursday.
Goessel
In most meets, Goessel does not have enough participants to tally scores as a team.
Eli Gaeddert continued to lead the boys Thursday with a second-place finish (16:39.59) at Harvey County East Lake.
Aidan Impson came in 16th. Madelyn Olson finished 36th.
The Bluebirds will be host for a meet Thursday at Bethel College in North Newton.
Centre
Centre’s boys have been dealing with injury, coach Caleb Reimer says.
“Our junior high runners are really crushing it,” he said.
Centre will travel Thursday to Goessel for its second to last meet of the regular season.
