Wrestling coming to an end

Both Marion and Hillsboro are beginning to wrap up their wrestling seasons.

The Trojans competed over the weekend at the Circle Invitation.

On the girls’ side, Kinsley Watts placed seventh at 100 pounds, and Anna King placed seventh at 145 pounds.

None of the boys were able to place.

The Hillsboro boy’s team will be competing Thursday at the Central Kansas League tournament in Pratt.

On Friday and Saturday, the girls will be at the Class 3-2-1A super regional’s at Silver Lake.

The Warriors’ Cadence Bialek and Sam Rziha traveled Thursday to a small tri-dual of sorts involving Marion, Ell-Saline, and Solomon.

“We had a great night of wrestling, and both of our wrestlers competed very well,” coach Tyler McMichael said.

Bialek ended the night with two victories and 1 loss. Rziha had ended the night 3-1.

“It was a good night of wrestling to round out our regular season competition,” McMichael said.

Marion will not be back in action until regionals Feb. 21 at Southeast of Saline.
